Cherry Samuya Veric at the Philippine Independence Day NYC Events

The exceptional taste and creativity of Filipino Fashion Designer, Cherry Veric, was again highlighted during several events here in The Big Apple. He was the featured designer in Neocolors Production’s Fabulous Philippines in New York 2 which had Miss World 2013 Megan Young, Miss Universe 2010 4th runner up Venus Raj and Xian Lim as main models.

Cherry was jubilant after the well attended fashion show held at Astoria World Manor. He posted this message afterwards… “And New York saw it: how Filipiniana can be reinvented into something sporty and fun. Easy to wear. Fab to strut around. Here’s my own take on the baro’t saya using the vibrant colors that define the Filipino soul. I wish to thank Neocolors, especially Doc Christine May Daguno-Canoy and her business partner Gina Reyes, for bringing the look of home to the diaspora. The show would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship of MX3, Vista Land, GMA, Philippine Airlines, PIDC, Business Mirror, Kusina, and Lx2, among others. Most of all, I thank the support of our kababayan in New York who came in full force. My heart is filled with gratitude. Pinoy love forever”

Meanwhile at the Philippine Independence Day Parade, Megan and Venus wore ensembles that rocked the City that never sleeps! Megan was in piece that blends Filipiniana with the New York icon, the yellow taxi and Venus was in a number that pays tribute to the Filipiniana and the landmark newspaper, the New York Times. The news? Filipino style is top of the universe!

Congratulations, Cherry!!!
