The lobby of the Philippine Center in Manhattan was the venue of a fashion Exhibit of Modern Ternos and Barongs from three Kapampangan Designers last August 5, 2021.
Pinangari, which translates to “bahaghari” in Filipino or “rainbow” in English, harkens to the “bahag ng hari” or the loincloth of a king, which is distinguished by its multiple layers of vibrant colors.
Pinangari symbolizes the vibrant and multi faceted nature of Kapampangan arts and culture, which the Philippine Consulate General in New York aims to introduce in the global arena.
The exhibit showcases the works of three of the leading contemporary fashion designers based in Angeles City, Pampanga= Philip Dizon Torres, Marlon Tuazon, and Frederick Policarpio.
The exhibit will run till August 27, 2021, Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4:30pm.
