Valerie Pawid West: Provincial Government of Ifugao Welcome

My visit home to Ifugao this weekend sadly had to end. On that note, I would like to express my deepest and heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all of you there in Kiangan (my mom’s hometown), Banaue, Lagawe and Lamut for the very warm welcome and hospitality you have given me and my team. I am so thankful and happy for the opportunity to meet so many relatives and kabobleyan, and to see/revisit different towns in Ifugao in such a short time. For me, it felt like coming home to a big family reunion that I am going to remember for a very long time.

A massive thank you to the different groups and individuals who made this possible for me & my team:

  • Kiangan LGU headed by Mayor Raldis Andrei A. Bulayungan
  • Vice Mayor Michelle Alice B. Baguilat
  • Annie Dumangeng, Kiangan DRRM
  • IIHPAS members for the lovely native dances in their native attire
  • Auntie Lydia de Castro for the lessons on our Ifugao culture and more
  • Eulalie Dulnuan, Shrine & Museum
  • Mayor Joel Bungalon of Banaue
  • Warren & Jane Dulawan of Grand View Hotel
  • Gov. Jerry U. Dalipog represented by Mrs. Angelina Dalipog in Lagawe (Ifugao Provincial Capitol)
  • IFSU president, Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon
  • Mayor Victomar H. Bunnol of Lamut
  • Members of municipal and provincial Philippine National Police who escorted us during our trips
  • Kiangan Homestay

My very special thanks of course to the organizers – my manung Aldrick & manang Mylene Cumti, manangs Marichu Guyguyon & Marlyn Bulayungan, aunties Precy Cumti, Leonor Pawid, Marcela Cortes, and other aunties, uncles, cousins, friends and everybody who came together to create a perfect itinerary for us. Amazing team work! Thank you for being there with us throughout all the visits.

I have also made new friends during my stay and I do want to say thank you thank you thank you to each and every one of you for the support, and for the wonderful and memorable experience.
