126th Philippine Independence Day Ball

The pomp and pageantry of the American Occupation of the Philippines were rekindled during the Rigodon de Honor during the 126th Philippine Independence Day Ball held at Da Mikelle Palazzo last June 08, 2024. The lavish Rigodon de Honor is a traditional, formal dance from the Philippines that is often performed at formal events like balls and galas. The dance is said to symbolize elevated status and is a highlight of official celebrations at the Malacañang Palace. The tradition of dancing the Rigodon at the Palace began when Governor-General William H. Taft and his wife Nellie introduced it.

Although dancing has been an integral part of Philippine Culture. Choreographer Erno Hormilloso made sure that the diverse members of the diaspora of Philippine society is represented in this well loved event.

Congratulations to PIDCI, under the leadership of President Arman David, for another successful year of Philippine Independence Day Celebration!
