Filipino Restaurant Week 2021 Media Launch

The much awaited Filipino Restaurant Week (August 18-27) is back and this year there are thirteen participating restaurants in New York. New Jersey, Massachusetts and Vermont. Participating restaurants will serve set meals of at least three courses – appetizer, entrée, and dessert; and are given the freedom and flexibility to concoct innovative dishes using a key ingredient. This year, the Philippine lime or calamansi, takes the center stage, requiring our chef’s zest of creativity as they highlight this staple to their featured dish.

The participants were welcomed by the Philippine Consulate General of New York led by Honorable Consul General Elmer G. Cato and his staff, The Media Launch for this year’s Filipino Restaurant Week served as a venue wherein the restaurant owners discussed their experiences during the pandemic and their hopes for the future.

A food testing happened after the short question and answer with members of the Fil-Am media.
